In July 2023, we took a cruise to the Bahamas. While in Nassau, we spent the day sightseeing at the Beautiful Sandals Royal Bahamian resort! Wow, oh wow, this is a beautiful resort! During COVID, the resort was renovated, and boy does it show! If you have visited this resort pre-COVID, you MUST visit the resort now that it has been renovated! Below is our honest review of this beautiful resort!

Sightseeing At The Beautiful Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort

From the moment we were driving into the resort to the moment we left, everything we saw was beautiful! We were immediately greeted with a row of beautiful flags, Rolls-Royce luxury vehicles, a water fountain in the wall, and such beautiful, manicured landscaping with the most beautiful flowers. The front desk staff were the first people we interacted with, and they were so accommodating, so much so that they provided a map and a list of events occurring that week – what a nice start to our trip!

Luckily the property is not too big, but big enough, that we were able to quickly tour the facility and got our barring’s before really relaxing. We knew we wanted to visit the private island, so we headed that way. Along the way, we saw the BEAUTIFUL huge pools with swim up bars, the rooms with swim out pools, the food trucks, the restaurants, and the hang out areas. So many beautiful spots to suntan, eat and drink, or just snuggle with your book or loved one.

Private Island

Going to the private island is a fun little adventure in itself. First, you get on a what seemed like a party boat, music and all, and coast to the island. No need to worry about the sun as probably 75% of the boat is shaded, however; I would recommend getting to the dock early as the shaded seats get taken first. We arrived on the first boat for the day and boy was the boat packed with people, BUT when we got off the boat, it seemed like everyone went in different directions, and the island never felt busy again. Welcome cocktails were waiting for us as we arrived at the island. Oh my, were they good!

We claimed a covered tiki hut with two lounge chairs, put our bags down, and ran to the most beautiful turquoise blue water. In July, the water was not cold at all, just simply perfect. The beach sand was so beautiful and soft, no complaints at all! There were other couples in the water further away, but we really felt secluded. We felt like we had the water all to ourselves, we were able to swim, snorkel, and even snuggle.

We did go to the bar a few times while on the island, and boy the drinks continued to be so delicious! After about an hour, we decided it was time for us to take the next boat back, so when we saw the boat arriving, we went back to the dock and hopped aboard. On the first shuttle back to the mainland, there was just us and another couple, so it was very spacious, and we felt like we had our own private boat.

Lunch

From there, we went to change out of our bathing suits as it was lunchtime. We looked at a few different menus, but ended up at one of the restaurants with an inside dining space as it was very hot outside this day. Again, we ordered cocktails and beers, and they once again were delicious. For food, I ordered a chicken dish and Sean ordered a Chinese-inspired dish – both were very good.

End of a Fun Day

We ended our day at the Sandals Royal Bahamian by visiting the ice cream food truck – such great ice-cream after a hot day – and then we visited the gift shop outside of the lobby. You must visit this gift shop when staying or visiting Sandals Royal Bahamian! It is huge (2 stories) and has a ton of different items & the prices were not too bad. From toiletry items to souvenirs, to t-shirts, this gift shop had it all!

Rating

Rating: 5 out of 5.

As we were only on the property for a few hours, we unfortunately cannot comment on the nightlife or any of the other restaurants; however, all in, our few hours spent sightseeing at the Beautiful Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort was incredible! I would 1000% recommend Sandals Royal Bahamian to anyone looking for a laid-back all-inclusive resort with a private island, food trucks, and beautiful pools! We will be back!

Holidays at Sandals Royal Bahamian

P.S. While we were not on the island on the Fourth of July, we spoke with some visitors that were staying at the resort on Americas Birthday, and they said Sandals truly outdid themselves on this special day. They said there was bull riding, special food, activities, games, and unbelievable fireworks in the evening. In their own words, they said it was “amazing, and a Fourth of July we will remember forever!” Below is the list of activities while we were on the property
